House Rules (General Terms and Conditions)

The most important information and general terms and conditions for a pleasant stay in our apartment:


1. Details of the private accommodation

1. § (1) The name of the private accommodation is: Island House of Tranquillity

3. §  (1) Accommodation management system used in private accommodation: VENDÉGEM

 (2) Type of accommodation indicated in the valid certificate: private accommodation. The accommodation shall operate in accordance with the conditions laid down in Government Decree No 239/2009 (X. 20.) on the detailed conditions for the provision of accommodation services and the procedure for issuing accommodation management licences.

2. How to book accommodation

4. § (1) As a general rule, accommodation in private accommodation can be booked through accommodation intermediaries using an online booking system.

(2) It is also possible to book accommodation in private accommodation by telephone or via Facebook or our website (individual request).

(3) Our contracted accommodation intermediaries:

(4) Reservations can be modified within the limits of the online system or, in case of availability, by phone with the accommodation provider.

3. Rules on cancellation and prepayment

5. § The guest may cancel the reservation free of charge up to 1 day before arrival. The guest will be charged the full price if he cancels the reservation within 1 day before arrival. If the guest does not show up, he will be charged the full price.

6. § Booking.com, AIRBNB.com, szallas.hu payment system will facilitate the prepayment of the total amount before the guest's arrival. Private accommodation can only be booked with prepayment of the accommodation fee. Exceptions to this rule are guests participating in the Booking.com GENIUS program, who are reimbursed according to the payment rules of the program, and guests paying by cash or credit card on the spot, if the accommodation provider has allowed it.

4. Payment methods

7. § (1) Payment by (pre)payment by prepaid card

a) When using OTP SZÉP CARD:

aa) opening the https://otpszepkartya.hu/ interface

ab) To make a transfer from the OTP Prepaid Card, you must be registered! If you have not already done so, please register! If you have already registered, please click on Register in the menu on the left!

ac) After the registration, select the Employees menu item in the header, then select the Administration tab in the left menu item, then select the Reservation payment menu item, enter your email address, password and verification code!

ad) Once you have logged in, select the name of the accommodation from the list (Island of Tranquility House) and enter the amount to be transferred. In the payment message, please include your booking reference (you will find it in the confirmation email) so that the accommodation can identify you when the payment arrives!

ae) From the Print receipts menu, send the payment receipt in pdf format to the accommodation (nyugalomszigetehaz@gmail.com)

af) Please save the booking form and keep it until the confirmation of the accommodation!

b) In case of using MKB Nice Card:

ba) The cardholder contacts the accommodation provider via telephone (card in hand), the accommodation provider will request a prepayment ID from the bank based on the data provided, which will be given to the Guest.This is used to initiate the transfer and to identify the service provider. The guest uses this code to initiate the transfer, following the steps below:

bb) Log in to https://www.mkbszepkartya.hu/

bc) select the Payment with MKB SZÉP card option from the menu on the right

bd) click on the tab "For Cardholders" and enter the code you received from the accommodation provider, fill in the pop-up form with the required information and click on "Approve Prepayment" at the bottom of the page.

c) K&H Nice Card:

ca) Prepayment procedure with the Prepaid Card: There are two ways to carry out the transaction:

caa) Blocking: carried out by the accommodation provider on the basis of the cardholder's details. In this case the amount is blocked and is not available to the cardholder or the accommodation provider. The blocking is lifted when the service is used/started and the amount is withdrawn from the card. The required data are:

                     - card number,

                     - pocket to be used,

                     - amount.

          cab) Authorisation by telephone: the cardholder can initiate this process by calling the K&H Nice Card Customer Service and providing his/her details and the service provider (accommodation provider). In this case, the amount will be debited from the card after the transaction. After the transaction, it is necessary to provide the accommodation provider with the received transfer ID.

(2) Using the payment system of the accommodation intermediary.

a) The guest makes a reservation through the online interface of the accommodation intermediary and pre-pays the accommodation fee using the online payment system.

b) The amount of the tourist tax in force at the time is paid on the spot.

(3) In the case of reservations made via Facebook or by telephone, the guest may pay the accommodation fee or the tourist tax by prepayment to the payment account number provided by the accommodation provider prior to the reservation of the accommodation or, if the accommodation provider has made it available on the spot via SIMPLE BUSINESS, by card payment or cash.

5. Contacting guests, automatic messaging

8. § (1) When the guest makes a reservation: an automatic system message is sent about the payment method.

(2) 3 days before the arrival: an automatic system message will be sent to the guest with information about the tourist attractions available in the area of the private accommodation, with the title "Guide to the Spa".

(3) On the day of check-in, we will send an automatic system message in English for our foreign guests and in Hungarian for our Hungarian guests about the VIZA system, the personal data processing required at check-in.

(4) On the day of check-in, we will send an automatic system message in English to our foreign guests about the services available in the private accommodation, the equipment of the rooms.

(5) On the day of check-in, an automatic system message will be sent to our foreign guests in English and to our Hungarian guests in Hungarian about the check-in procedure, the keys, the room assignment, emergency medical care.

(6) In case of booking via Facebook or by phone, a confirmation (voucher) with the details of the booking will be sent to the e-mail address provided.

6. Check-in and check-out, guestbook, rules of stay

9. §  (1) Private accommodation can be booked between 14:00 and 21:00 on the day of arrival. Please leave the accommodation before 10:00 on the day of departure. Check-in and check-out is self-service. The service provider is available on site on request at the time of arrival and departure. The service provider is available around the clock by telephone.

(2) No refund will be made in the event of early departure or cancellation within 24 hours of the check-in date. The accommodation is only available for the number of persons booked and agreed in advance. A high chair for infants can be provided.

(3) By law, guests are required to enter certain details into the VIZA system upon check-in. Guests' identification documents must be scanned digitally by machine, i.e. processed by a smartphone app or document scanner rather than being typed into the hotel system. The hotel system then transfers the guest's details to the encrypted Guest Information Closed Database (VIZA) at check-in. The guest can choose to either record the required details themselves by downloading the GUEST app or by filling in the registration form provided at the property. The registration form (guestbook) requires the following details per guest.

(4) Guestbook data required for registration: - name, - name at birth, - place and date of birth, - mother's name, - nationality, - address, - telephone number, - e-mail address, - document identification number. Legal basis for processing: Article 6(1)(b) to (c) of the GDPR. The principles governing the processing, such as: lawfulness, fairness and transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, limited storage, integrity and confidentiality, accountability will be respected during the processing. The Privacy Notice is prominently displayed in the accommodation.

(5) The night rest period is between 22:00 and 08:00. During the rest period, everyone must have the right to rest in peace! In the public area in front of the private accommodation and in the courtyard of the private accommodation, the doors of the vehicles shall be closed with a moderate sound effect if possible, car alarms shall be used, and the quiet of neighbours and guests shall not be disturbed by loud music or conversations on the terraces. Behaviour that disturbs the peace may result in the termination of your stay in the accommodation. For this reason, the proportionate part of the accommodation fee shall not be refunded for early forced departure.

(6) The accommodation provider has the right to check, without prior notice, that the number of guests staying in the accommodation is the number of persons announced or paid for in advance.

(7) Guests may only receive visitors with the knowledge and consent of the accommodation provider.

(8) In the event of loss of the keys handed over, guests must immediately report this and reimburse the cost of the keys or the change of locks to the accommodation provider.

(9) The host is not liable for any damage to property or accidents resulting from improper use.

(10) The guests are liable for any damage caused by the improper use of the accommodation by the guests, who must pay the accommodation provider directly. A record of the damage, which becomes known during the stay, shall be made in which the description of the damage, the findings of the accommodation provider, the statements of the guest who caused the damage and photographic evidence shall be recorded.

(11) If the fact of the damage or the absence of an item of equipment or furnishing in the accommodation becomes known to the accommodation provider after the guest who caused the damage has left the accommodation, a report shall be made, verified by photographs, describing the damage and containing the statement of the accommodation provider, which shall be sent immediately to the known address of the guest who caused the damage, so that he/she may express his/her position in writing. If no agreement is reached on compensation for the damage, the accommodation provider will pursue his claim in court and, in addition to compensation for the damage, will claim reimbursement of the costs of legal representation in the proceedings.

(12) An accurate inventory of the items and equipment in the common areas of the accommodation has been made and is available on request, and the room lockers are posted to allow inspection without request.

(13) If any problems arise during your stay in the apartment or room, please inform the accommodation provider immediately.

(14) Smoking or the use of open flames is prohibited in the apartment. Smoking is allowed in the courtyard in the designated area! Open flames are only allowed in the kitchen, when using the oven. Candles placed in the private accommodation are decorative elements, their lighting or the lighting of any incense or candles is not allowed. Violation of this rule will result in termination of the stay in the accommodation. No refund of the proportionate part of the accommodation fee shall be due for early forced departure on this ground.

(15) Pets or animals of any kind are not allowed in the whole area of the apartment. Pets are not allowed in the private accommodation. Any breach of this rule will result in the termination of the stay in the accommodation. Cleaning costs will be charged as a claim. No refund of the proportionate part of the accommodation fee will be made for this reason.

(16) It is forbidden to rearrange the equipment in the apartment or room!

(17) The apartment will be handed over to the guests clean, no cleaning (daily cleaning) will be done during their stay. When you leave, you must hand over the accommodation in the same condition as when you arrived: clean and undamaged. For stays of more than 7 days (i.e. longer stays), the service provider will clean the accommodation on request and, for longer stays, will change the bed linen and towels weekly.

(18) Household waste shall be placed in the collection container provided in the accommodation. It is the responsibility of the guests to empty the bin daily as necessary, if the length of stay or the capacity of the bin allows, it will be emptied and cleaned by the accommodation provider after the guest has checked out.

(19) We cannot be held responsible for personal belongings and valuables left at the accommodation. If they leave the apartment, they should lock the doors and windows. Be sure to close umbrellas, turn off lights, electrical appliances including air conditioning and turn off taps when leaving the accommodation unit.

(20) It is not allowed to bring weapons, highly flammable or explosive materials, or materials with a strong and unpleasant smell, or appliances for preparing food (hotplates, etc.) or other electrical appliances (fans, etc.) into the accommodation without the consent of the host.

(21) Pictures and sound recordings may be made in the common areas of the private accommodation. The common areas may be monitored by remote sensing at any time by the accommodation provider. The purpose of the surveillance shall be for the security of property, damage control, protection of life and health, limited to the common areas of the private accommodation.  Legal basis for processing: article 6(1)(f) GDPR. If recordings are made, they will be stored for the period required for the enforcement of the claim as requested by the relevant authority/judicial procedure, otherwise they will be deleted in full the day after logging out. The recording (if made) will be made available to the person to whom it relates upon request within the retention period. Our privacy notice is prominently displayed in the accommodation together with the policy.

The following notices are prominently displayed in the public areas of the private accommodation where remote sensing is used:

The purpose of the monitoring is: security of property, repair of damage, protection of life and health limited to the public areas of the private accommodation. Legal basis for data processing: Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If recordings are made, they will be stored for the period required by the relevant official / court proceedings to enforce the claim, otherwise the day after check-out will be completely deleted. The recording (if made) will be made available to the person on the recording within the retention period upon request. Our data management information, together with the policy, is placed in a prominent place on the property.

(22)A maximum of 3 cars may be parked in the enclosed courtyard of the private accommodation. Parking in the public area in front of the private accommodation and in the enclosed courtyard is free of charge.

7. Services provided by the private accommodation

10. §  (1) Two rooms are rented as one accommodation unit with a bathroom.

(2) In the private accommodation there is a living room, a dining room and a kitchen, two terraces for guests.

(3) In the kitchen, the utensils, cutlery, crockery, glasses and household appliances available for use by guests are clearly marked and separated from the host's private equipment.

(4) A fridge, microwave, conventional gas oven, blender, hot sandwich maker, toaster, hand blender, coffee maker are available in the kitchen. Basic condiments, coffee, dishwashing liquid and dishwashing sponges are provided.

(5) The living room has a flat-screen TV, over a hundred Hungarian and foreign language channels, netflix, wifi, and a three-seater, a two-seater and a single sofa bed for your comfort. In the so-called Silver room skyshowtimes, disney+ are also available.

(6) The dining table seats 6.

(7) Terraces with benches, garden table and chairs.

(8) The bathroom has a washing machine, hydro-massage shower, corner bath, toilet, iron and ironing board, clothes dryer, hairdryer, shoe care products, umbrellas, sewing kit and a minimum of three cosmetics, liquid soap, hand sanitizer and shampoo, shower gel.

  (9) The entrance hall contains a double sofa bed, two sitting bunks, a first aid box and a signboard with information about the sights and services in the area.

(10) The property has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the hallway outside the bedrooms and in the kitchen.

(11) Rooms are provided with 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel, 1 spare blanket, 2 pillows and blankets of different hardness per guest. Individual heating and cooling can be provided by the air-conditioning equipment in the accommodation. Flat-screen TV, cable TV available. Room No 1 (1 bed 200x220 cm + 1 cot), Room No 2 (1 bed 180*200 cm)

  (12) The garden is open to the public. The barbecue area can be used. A minimum amount of wood is available on request. Access to the garden pond is at your own risk. Maximum water depth: 2 m, which may be dangerous for children and elderly people. The goldfish in the pond can only be fed with special food. Plants, flowers and fruits from the garden cannot be picked, they are for the private use of the host.

(13) The use of the garden playground is at the guest's own risk.

(14) For recreational activities, scooters, bicycles, board games, badminton set, balls, books in Hungarian and foreign languages, the accommodation's own boat on the Holt-Tisza are available.

(15) The accommodation is listed on social portals and accommodation brokerage sites with up-to-date information and realistic photos. The own website contains up-to-date information with realistic photos and photo gallery, contact details, room rates, booking interface. It also contains a description of the types of rooms, the number of beds and the services available.

(16) Our guests will receive a tourist brochure (in Hungarian/English), in which we have collected the cultural, architectural, ecological and tourist attractions of the town and its surroundings, with spectacular pictures and interesting descriptions, programme recommendations.

8. Final provisions

11. §  These rules are posted in a prominent place in the private accommodation and are also available on the accommodation's Facebook page.

12. § This policy has been updated on 1 January 2024 and is applicable as a General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for all legal relationships established through the accommodation service. In matters not covered by the GTC, or for any rules that deviate from it, the Offer and its acceptance, the confirmation (voucher) and the provisions of the applicable legislation shall prevail. The accommodation service provider, as the applicant of the GTC, has enabled the other Party (the accommodation user) to become acquainted with its contents prior to the conclusion of the contract, and the other Party, by accepting the Offer/booking, accepts and acknowledges that it has become acquainted with the contents of the GTC and accepts them. The Party applying the GTC shall inform the other Party of any general terms and conditions which deviate substantially from the law or from normal contractual practice. These substantially different terms and conditions are the provisions of Article 5 of the GTC (refund of accommodation fees). The other Party acknowledges the information by accepting the reservation or the individual offer and confirms its acceptance of the terms and conditions indicated.
